Stop Hospitals from Gouging Auto Accident Victims and Driving up the Cost of Your Auto Insurance
Reduce Your Auto Insurance Rate By $125 Per Vehicle
Michigan’s no-fault auto insurance system is in desperate need of reform. Staggering increases in the costs of providing mandated unlimited, lifetime medical coverage as part of our auto insurance policies have pushed the costs of auto insurance 20 to 35 percent higher than neighboring states, increasing the number of uninsured drivers to one in every five.
Our current no-fault law allows hospitals and other medical providers to bill auto accident patients three to five times as much as they bill other patients for the exact service. This is costing our no-fault system millions of dollars every month and Michigan drivers are getting stuck with the tab through higher auto insurance rates.
We can protect and save Michigan’s no-fault system and still provide the highest level of auto insurance coverage in the country while cutting costs to consumers to make it more affordable, but we need your help.
Let your legislators and local newspapers know that you support reforming Michigan’s no-fault insurance system. House Bill 4612 will cut down on fraud and medical providers who are ripping off the system. The bill will also save drivers $125 per vehicle on their auto insurance – an average of $250 per family.
